Birthdays and Facts

Saturday, November 3, 2012

It just so happens that today's facts about me deals with my parents and my relationship with them, but it is also my Mom's birthday!

Y'all might give me some dirty looks that I can't see and some huffs under your breath for what I am about to say, but I arguably have the best mom in the world. I honestly can't think of a better role model, person to talk to, hang out with or go shopping with. I love my mom to death and am so glad I am able to spend so much time with her lately.

Mom and I love to do things together such as go out for wine tasting, shopping and exercising. I am a carbon copy of her, minus the hair color and the skin tone.

We love to spend time together quality time together no matter if it is taking a paint class, sitting on the beach catching some rays or just sitting together in the working on crafts.

Mom is the most loving person I know and I am so glad that I can show her a little love for her birthday. I feel like I am saying the same thing over and over again...

So...Happy Birthday Mom! You are the greatest Mother I could have ever asked for!

Now on to....

Get To Know Me November: Day 3 - Describe your relationship with your parents

My relationship with my parents has always been wonderful. I am an only child so I had my parents all to myself and I have so many great memories with them.

I remember them coming to all of my dance recitals when I was young and standing with me in line before I went on the stage, then running into their seats to watch me. My dad coached my softball team until I decided that cheering was more important to me. Both of my parents went to all of my cheering competitions, football games, color guard competitions, award ceremonies in college, everything. I have mostly always felt like I could talk to them about anything. Even when I didn't think that they were being fair, I understood that they were doing what they thought was best for me. Even now, I'm sure they still do what they think is best for me. Sometimes I wish they would let me make my own mistakes, but they are the best parents anybody could ask for.

My mom, as I described before is my best friend. She helps me when I need it most (sophomore year of college as I called home crying almost every night). She supports me with all my decisions and encourages me to be the best I can possibly be.

My dad has a huge heart full of love which he shares with me. He supports me, spoils me, and wouldn't hesitate to give me a "word" when my room was too messy for his Air Force standards. Although I didn't get his standards of clean rooms, we have an understanding and a strong bond that I can't even describe.

Come back tomorrow to learn about the year I would relive if I could...
