Sunday Social : It's Almost Fall!

Sunday, September 8, 2013

Since my little blog hiatus, I had pretty much stopped doing link-ups. I miss linking up though, so.... as much as I hate to say goodbye to summer, I am going to try to get into the spirit of fall by linking up with Neely and Ashley.

1. What is your favorite fall activity?

Last year J and I went with his family to pick pumpkins and did a corn maze. I loved it! I would have to say that it was by far my favorite fall activity besides like drinking a yummy chai tea latte.

2. Do you follow a football team? If so, which one and why?

I have to admit that my family does not follow any sport, how un-American are we?!. However! J and his family are huge sports people. They live about 45 minutes from Tuscaloosa, AL so of course they are huge Alabama fans. I think this is the part where I'm supposed to say "ROLL TIDE!" {I'll get the hang of this sports thing eventually} This year I'm going to try to make an effort to watch more games. Alabama of course. I might also sneak in a few Clemson games too just because I personally like them.

P.S. This is not my hat, I'm making my plan to steal it from J

3. What is something fun about fall in your area?

I'm sure there are lots of fun things about fall in the Richmond area, but my favorites are the way you can tell it's fall just by the feeling in the air. You know that feeling you get where the air is crisp and the leaves are all different colors. I love that feeling. It really is one of my favorite parts of fall. Another is our families annual Brunswick stew get-togethers. Last year's was pretty fun!

4. What are your favorite fall staple outfits?

I don't exactly have any. I pull out my comfy jeans and my cowboy boots. I start wearing the light weight sweaters and long sleeve shirts and some cute scarves. This is one outfit from last fall I really liked!

5. What things are his looking forward to most about this coming fall season?

This fall I don't really have anything exciting planned. Possibly going to the Air Force ball again in late September, and hopefully working on some crocheted afghans. That's pretty much it.

6. What is your favorite fall holiday? Tradition?

Thanksgiving! I love how our whole family gets together and has a huge Thanksgiving meal. Geez, I am sounding really boring, but I suppose that I just enjoy the nice time with my family and my grandmother's amazing cooking!

For the record, I love Halloween too. I love to scare the crap out of myself by watching some kind of ghost show and listening to ghost stories.

So now I'm off to our family reunion. I can't wait to see all of my relatives and eat all the yummy food. Keep an eye out for some recipes like the yummy Oreo-stuffed brownies I made for the reunion.

  1. I am such a scaredy cat. I won't watch any scary movies. Well, mu hubby tries to force me to watch with him and I end up snuggled up with him the whole time, while he laughs. I totally love Thanksgiving because there is so much food, family, and fun. My birthday falls around that time too.
