That Time I Almost Won a Wedding Dress

Monday, November 4, 2013

This morning I was doing my thing getting ready to write a post about working out (which will be posted later this week) when a friend texted me and told me about this sweet thing a bridal salon was doing.

There is a bridal salon called Maya Couture Bridal Salon in Norfolk, Virginia who is honoring Brides Across America to give away bridal gowns to military brides on November 11th.

I was so excited. I was planning out my road-trip down to Norfolk the minute I read her text. But I figured there had to be a catch somewhere. So I looked it up.

1. In order to qualify for Brides Across America, the bride or groom have to be in the service. Check. I had that one.

2. You have to be engaged and planning a wedding within the next 18 months. Check I had that one too.

3. You or your fiance must have been deployed in the past 5 years or have an upcoming deployment with papers for the orders. Buzz! I fail here.

I was kind of disappointed that I couldn't win a wedding dress, but I'm still so happy that there are things out there for brides like me who don't have a lot of funds but still want to have the fancy wedding of their dreams.

Brides across America is going on throughout the country during the month of November. I figured I would share with y'all in case there are any girls reading who are planning a wedding and do qualify to possibly win a free wedding dress. Good Luck to military brides!

  1. Bummer! I do love that they have these programs, it's amazing.

  2. Aww, that would have been really cool.
