It's Never To Early to Envision Your Dress!

This past weekend I went with my best friend to get her bridal gown from David's Bridal. She was beyond excited to finally have her gown in her possession. She looked very beautiful in her gown. While I was there I went ahead and ordered my bridesmaid gown. When she sent me a picture of it, I didn't really like it. It wasn't something I would have picked out. But luckily when I tried it on, I thought it looked pretty nice. Unfortunately the dress in my size was not the correct color, but I still want to share with y'all what it looks like. I'm thinking it will be my AF Ball dress 2014!

John and I have been engaged for 239 days! That's nearly 8 months. It's a little upsetting that we don't have an official date set yet. We are really hoping for late July, but we aren't sure. We don't want to upset my parents by getting married too soon but we are both ready. John is also volunteering for a deployment so we can pay for our wedding on our own.

Like every other girl, I've been sitting here pondering what I wanted my dress to look like. I actually didn't dream about my perfect wedding dress when I was a little girl. At first I thought I wanted just a simple dress since our wedding is planned to be outdoors. But when I went to try on dresses, I liked a more intricate dress.

The first one I tried on was one of my favorites. Like I said, it was plain but I really liked it. The next one was kind of a push for me to try on. I really wasn't sure about all of the beading and detail in the dress.

After I got it on though I really liked the look of it! Plus I loved the long train! How beautiful is that?! Unfortunately that style had been discontinued. The only dresses they had left were the dresses physically in the store. But after trying on that dress I am more willing to look at dresses with lace and beading in the future.

What type of wedding dress are you getting/did you have?

  1. I had a fit and flare with flower embellishments and it was 100% not what I ever envisioned wearing. But when I put it on, it was the one. It took me awhile to admit it but I LOVE IT! And itwas so perfect!

Stopping by from the link up!

  2. My dress wasn't exactly what I thought I wanted. It checked off all the boxes, but wasn't something I would have seen online and said, "Oooh I like that". But when I tried it one it just felt right. It had everything I wanted and that made me happy. Things I knew I wanted: lace, straps, a low back, more mermaid type than ball gown. And I got all of those things. Just keep looking. And honestly, I didn't get my dress until I had a date and a venue...that sort of helped me pick the one I wanted.

    Thanks for linking up!

  4. You are going to be such a stunning bride! Both of them are beautiful. My wedding dress was a simple short dress because we didn't have a big wedding.

  5. You look so beautiful! My dress is not something I would have picked out on my own, but the consultant at Macy's in Chicago said it would look perfect on me. She was right! I love it!
