Say You Will... Marry Me?

I'm not exactly sure why I've been thinking about John's proposal so much lately but it's been on my mind. It really was one of the best days of my life.

I don't remember if I told this in my original engagement post, but while we were standing in front of the fountain John turned to me and just looked at me. He has this really cute look he gets on his face. I call it his "I love you" look. He doesn't have to say a single word but I know exactly what he is thinking. It's like when he looks in my eyes he can see his whole world. Anyway, he gave me that look when he asked how much I loved him. He actually asked me quite a few times how much I loved him. I thought it was such an odd question. But then he got down on one knee.

As I've been thinking about that moment I wondered if "How much do you love me?" was really what he had planned to say. I was pretty sure that in front of the fountain wasn't where he wanted to propose, though it turned out to be fairly pretty for the pictures.

I asked him what he had planned and he said he wanted it to be a picnic in the field where we met and spent the whole day together. He wanted to put the puzzle in the bottom of our picnic basket and ask me during our picnic. But that day it was raining and we had his family with us, so we had the fountain. Although things didn't go like he had planned them, it made me so happy for him to get down on one knee.

I'm not sure when I will walk down the aisle in my white dress, but I know that when I do I will meet the love of my life, with that cute little smile of his and know that in his eyes, I'm his everything. I will capture every thought, every sight, every smell and I will cherish it for my lifetime.

  3. Awww! Congrats! My fiance originally planned on doing it during the fireworks on the 4th of July (also because my birthday is July 2). It never worked out because we were in the wrong spot for the display!

  4. This is so beautiful, girl. Ryan second-guessed everything he did after the fact, but I wouldn't have changed it for anything. I'm so not good with crowds or being the center of attention, so the fact that it was just him and I and our promise to each other was perfect for me. You guys are ADORABLE :)

  6. Aw this was so cute. How adorable. I feel like no proposal ever goes exactly as the guy planned, but the proposal is always perfect just the way it happened :)
