Caught in the middle of good and evil... Are you ready to fall?

Fallen
Author: Lauren Kate
Rating: 5 stars
Picture: Goodreads

There was an accident and somehow Luce's ex-boyfriend was killed in a fire. But she can't remember anything! Luce gets sent to Sword & Cross, a reform school, where she meets an interesting group of new friends. After being at the new school for a while, she becomes infatuated with two of the male students. Daniel seems to constantly push Luce away, but she just can't seem to not be interested in him. While on the other hand, Cam showers her with attention and gifts. Eventually she will see she is caught in the middle of a tug of war game between good and evil.

Before reading Fallen, I browsed through the reviews on Goodreads. I was very surprised to find such mixed reviews. One of my friends recommended this young adult novel to me and personally, I fell in love with it. Yes, the characters are high school aged students, so you have to expect some immaturity out of them, but if you look past it, the story is absolutely wonderful.

This is one novel where it is hard to talk about the characters without giving away a huge spoiler for the novel. But I will say that you really might not be able to trust your gut instinct with this book.

Kate spends a good portion of the book setting up the story. I personally didn't mind that aspect. I felt like it gave me a better understanding of what happened and what was going on around the characters. The slow start and detailed background definitely will help the story in future books!

I can't wait to get my hands on Torment, the next book in the Fallen series. If you are a lover of the supernatural, angels or the fight between good and evil, I would suggest this book to you. It is an easy read that won't take you long to go through and leave you asking what will happen next!

Read any good books lately? I'm always looking for new suggestions!
