I'm not much of a sports person. You may throw me into sports jail if you like, but I just have a hard time getting into it. I don't have a favorite NFL or NBA team, and I barely watch college sports. My college didn't have a football team (such a crime!) and I will occasionally watch Alabama football because I think I would be kicked out of my in-laws family if I didn't.
As you might have guessed, I don't know much about football. I can't count how many times I interrupted John to ask a question while he was watching an Alabama game. So while watching the Super Bowl this year I was taken aback when I heard somebody say that football (and possibly other sports) are rigged. The refs are paid off and everything is planned out.
I may be very naive, but I just can't believe that would be true. Yes, I'm sure some refs can make bad calls but everybody is human. Who would want to watch the sports if they knew that the winner had already been picked and the whole season had been planned out?!
Maybe it's just me but after watching the Super Bowl this year, everything seemed very much live and in the moment. I don't know how you could have made an interception like that if things were planned out!
What do you think of the matter?
Do you even watch sports?
